Objectives of the Association

Optimal Nutrition

To promote the optimal health, nutrition and education of all children by supporting nutritionally adequate and educationally sound, financially accountable, nonprofit child nutrition and school community nutrition programs.

High Standards

To promote high standards for child nutrition and school community nutrition programs with an emphasis on nutritionally adequate meals which are appealing to children.

Promote Membership

To promote membership and provide services to members.

To promote the involvement of students and the school community in child nutrition programs.

To promote united efforts between school personnel, allied organizations, industry and the public to assure every child an opportunity to receive the benefits of the child nutrition and nutrition education programs.

Get egg-cited for a cafeteria clash like no other! This February, the Nebraska SNAC (School Nutrition Action Committee) and NDE Nutrition Services are organizing a fun and friendly Nebraska School Breakfast Challenge for any interested Nebraska school. 📅 Save the Date : February 1 - 23, 2024 As you know, breakfast is critical for student success in the classroom. Students who have had breakfast have fewer behavior problems and are more ready to learn! Throughout February, we will be challenging you to create more accessible, engaging, and nourishing breakfast experiences for your students. Your efforts earn points for your school, and the top three point earners will savor victory with tasty cash prizes to support your school’s nutrition program! To keep the game fair, schools will be divided into two groups based on school size: 1-600 and 600+. Both groups will compete for their own 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners and get a cash prize! 🥇 1st Place: $750 🥈 2nd Place: $350 🥉 3rd Place: $200
